About – History and Vision

  • Conceived of in 2008/09 – based on Apple iPhone adoption when AT&T exclusivity deal occurred
  • Smartphones already existed but when Apple’s App Store launched with 10K Apps, and App enabled a sandbox for average subscribers to play in and understand  – like AOL did with the internet in the early 90’s or Microsoft did with desktop computers via Windows
  • Apps are the easiest vehicle to drive utilization, since subscribers carry their computers (smartphones) in their pocket (Est. 60-80% smartphone adoption by end of 2013 – comScore Dec 2012)

  • Carrier history: in early 00’s, marketing, customer service and relationships seemed to drive Tier 3 & 4 Cellular carrier success.   Then, new smartphones trumped that, but apps will create a Renaissance for smaller carriers to challenge larger ones due to subscriber individualization and relationship automation capabilities through apps
  • ROI focused (through invoice, because cost is too high, $1+), and growing into other digital and relevant mediums – MyMBPP results in at least 50-75% decrease to carrier cost
